BREDENBURY TAKES FIRST PLACE SHOWDOWN WITH THUNDER
- Submitted by

The Bredenbury Cougars broke open a 1-1 game with four second period goals on their way to an 8-2 win over the Ochapowace Thunder on Sunday night.

The game was a make up from the Christmas season when the weather was into the -40s (windchill).

Sean Kolodziewjski, Colby Jacobs, Kirk Byczynski, and Jamie Harrick did the damage in the decisive middle period.

Harrick and Dylan Trowell both finished with two goals.  Nick Chartier had the other marker.

Kailum Gervais assisted on both Ochapowace goals, scored by Sterling Bear and newcomer Rance Thomson (recently added from Whitewood QVHL).  Gervais is tied with teammate Valdez Bear for the league scoring lead with 29-points.

The win gives the Cougars a 9-and-2 record to sit atop the standings.

The Thunder drop to 7-3-and-2 for second place, two points back.
